Juvederm Voluma, however, adds volume to the cheek area. It was developed to give more lift than other hyaluronic acid facial volumizers and results in a smooth, natural look and feel.
Juvederm is made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar found in your body. As we grow older, the hyaluronic acid we once produced starts to diminish and facial volume decreases. Gravity pulls the skin down, resulting in folds and sagging. The injected hyaluronic acid combines with the water in your skin to restore lost fullness and smooth out lines and wrinkles.
Juvederm Voluma instantly provides a smooth natural-looking lift for the mid-face that is clinically proven to last up to 2 years with optimal treatment.
The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injection site reactions such as redness, pain, tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps and bruising.
As with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of infection. Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting. Because Juvederm Voluma is such a thick, viscous product, it is not appropriate for injection into the lips. Other products in the Juvederm family are optimally suited for treatment of the perioral region.
