In most cases, local or topical anesthesia and sedation are sufficient. Laser skin resurfacing is almost always performed as an outpatient procedure, meaning you can go home the same day. But make sure you have arranged for a driver.
After Your Treatment

Your initial healing will typically take 3-14 days, depending on the extent of your treatment. You will experience some redness and itching. This is completely normal, as is some oozing and crusting. Don’t pick at your skin. Once you have healed, use sunscreen rated SPF 30 or higher daily.
